Ladies and Gentlemen , Please note that , this post contains my complete experience in detail of 5 days in SSB(Services Selection Board). I request you to read it completely to gain my experience and knowledge . I can say that , u can almost crack your SSB interview, if u follow my tips .
THE JOURNEY BEGINS HERE !!!
Soon after , we had campus interview for SSB.
After splitting up batches in random , approximately with 40 people in a batch , the following rounds happened.
In our call letter , instructions were given like what to bring , etc,..
We reached bangalore . Soon after we searched MCO (Movement Control Office) . 10 more people were standing at MCO. We gave a word to them . Within minutes , all of us became friends since everyone are attending SSB from various part of country.
For every 1 hour , people population were growing . Within 2.00 pm , totally there were around 250 people in railway station for attending SSB . We all were sitting in platform with our dreams for the upcoming days.
Everyone had eye on my luggage only :-P Some asked about it .
I told "This is my height of confidence for SSB".
Please make a note of this paragraph :
Suddenly a military van appeared with full of young people . We all stood up and looked at the van weirdly.
People in the van got down , they hugged each other with smile and walked away. We were puzzled like who are they. With full of eagerness , we all waited for the officer. One person came and asked us to form a line. We were serious in facial expression and stood in a line. some candidates got on the top of the van and arranged all our luggage there.
The van brought us to SSB centre. within few minutes , they made us sit in reception. One officer gave introduction speech. Soon after his completion , they gave different forms to fill up . Based on our register number , they called us and gave Chest numbers (Identification of each candidate) . And then , they brought our mobile phones under their custody.
That day for dinner , they provided various food. All of them were good.
That day , i had a walk with one of my new friends in SSB . He shared a lot about his college NIT and their placements. I felt happy to roam out . we ate paani poori , fruit juices and came back at time . The day ended with satisfaction of tests.
Group tasks checks your team work , how you involve yourself in a team , how you lead your team members , whether you are helping your team , etc,.

Our team didnt performed so well at the first progressive group task. Our GTO , himself helped us with ideas . Later on ,we developed ourselves . I performed 9 out of 10 individual tasks. During lecture , take the complete 3 minutes time . Do not stop before 3 minutes time. We came back with good possession during Snake race. We overtook all of the other teams which became an advantage for our team.
I was the first person in my team. Therefore , immediately after completion of my GTO tasks , they informed my interview . They asked me to appear with my Group task dress itself. My interview was one of the best i have attended.
As im a sports person in general , there was so many questions on it . The only thing they expect is the positive person in you.
NOTE:
Make sure , you know everything in PIQ form you filled . Because , questions will be from that only.
Here , interviewer will be comparing your spot answer with that of the psychological answers. They will judge your character from the answers itself. It will openly show whether you are true in psychological test alone or interview alone or both . If you are truthful in both the tests then the chances of getting selected is high !!!
Thats why people insist us to do the tests very naturally . Do not try to exaggerate anything .
So my interview lasted for 45 minutes. The completion of my interview brought a satisfactory smile in myself and the interviewer. He told "That was a valuable 45 minutes of interview. I got to know many things about your career. All the best srikandh !! ". I told "Thank u sir. It was a good interview experience for me ".
So as usual , dinner went off that day .
Before the commencements of conference , the president or the deputy president will give the speech about the fact of how they are selecting people for defense forces.
Within a hour , the conference will start from the chest number order. Each person will be called to conference hall individually .
Conference hall consist of President , Deputy President , GTO's , Interviewer , and the psychologists.
During the conference , my interviewer alone was asking the basic questions like , how was your stay , food , and other things in SSB . He asked me to asses marks for my 5 day events. He asked me whether i have any suggestions for SSB.
NOTE:
1). Please give a suggestion , if the interviewer asks you to give. Make it valuable. Never say useless suggestions.
2). Make yourself confident in the hall . Because , seeing everybody in their uniform , you will get nervous automatically . But try to control it .
After conference , comes the final result !!!! The reward for the hard work !!!
No body can predict their results . And the reason for the selection or elimination is hidden . Every one of us sat with result tension . They announced it . More than 10 people cleared it out of 69 people . Unfortunately i couldnt make it out this time :)
But the experience we gain there will be more than anything . We will understand whom we are . Some confidence and responsibility automatically comes in us :)
Immediately they returned our mobile phones and we were sent back to railway station . In the beginning of this blog , i mentioned one thing . Yes people :) When we neared railway station , we saw 100's of people who were waiting for SSB interview as we did before 6 days :) Everyone had an excitement to see people in military van :) I really got welled up . After we were dropped down , every one of us hugged each other with tears and smiles :) Its our goodbye from SSB :) I cried like anything seeing people who queued to get into van like we did before 6 days :) I saw the passion in them as i had .
I finally said goodbye to the officer who guided us to railway station :) With a final handshake all of us moved apart to our native places :)

- UES (University Entry Scheme) :

- Snap talk :
Candidates are asked to pick a number between 0 to 100. Each number will contain a topic in it . Based on the number u chose , you will be given 1 minute time to prepare on the topic. Soon after , u have to talk about it in front of your batch. Each candidate will get unique topic.
People who cleared snap talk reached next round which is technical.
Selected candidates are asked to sit like in group discussion . Technical questions were fired in common . Who knows the answer can answer it from the group.

Selected candidates from technical continued for HR.General HR questions were asked to each candidates like , why do you want to join Navy, etc,.. Time elapsed for me was 5 minutes.After 3 months , the results of selected candidates for SSB interview were forwarded as mail to candidates who cleared the UES interview. Totally less than 10 people got selected from our college.

TIPS :
- Make sure , you use spoons to eat food except chapati etc,.
- Make sure , you are following the instructions about the dress code , table mannerism while coming for dinner.
- Make sure , you don't waste food , they really note you on this.
They provided rooms for everyone. In each room , 8 candidates will accommodate. Everyone were provided with separate bed , bedspread and a pillow. It was really a nice hospitality.
- DAY 1 : SCREENING TEST:
Every morning they will play a devotional music at 5 as an alarm . But i use to wake up early at 4.00 . I woke everybody soon after waking myself. There were enough restrooms for candidates to refresh and get ready. I took bath within 4.20 and got ready within 5 . We people had good co operation to wake everyone in our room, ofcourse in every room :P
At 6.00 all of us got ready , and we went for breakfast. After that , they started our screening tests.

TIPS :
- During written tests, Make sure u write as quick as possible since the time is so stringent. Try to attempt the maximum questions.
- During PPDT , Make a clear story from the picture. Story should be positive whatever u see as picture because no answer is right or wrong . Its our perception.
- During narration of your story, Do not try to bluff or act too smart. Be natural , positive , mentally strong , communicate well , and most importantly , keep your confidence high enough in the team.
- Dont panic , if someone you think is better in your group. Do your part with confidence and leave the rest to fate.

Once after completing our tasks in first day , we were asked to complete our lunch. After lunch , we gathered , and our results were on the reporter hands. Everyone of us were eager for results .
They announced it . 70 people out of 250 cleared the day 1 screening . Im one of them who cleared. Unfortunately two of my friends couldnt make this time. Immediately after results , selected people were brought to reception. Remaining were sent back with the van. I didnt even got time to talk to my friends.
They asked us to fill up PIQ (Personal Information Questionaire) form .
NOTE :
- Make sure , whatever you fill in PIQ should be true. Its plays a major role for your selection.
- Be confident and remember all details you fill in PIQ because questions in your interview will be based on PIQ.
- DAY 2 : PSCHOLOGY TEST:

TIPS :
- For all tests , put your mind relaxed so that the true person in you will come out.
- For TAT ,
- Out of 12 slides , try to make a suitable story for 11 slides and prepare a story for 12th now itself , since its a blank slide and you can write your own story.
- None of the 11 slides have any relationship . Every slide contains different images.
- For WAT , SRT ,
All my tests went so good . I could complete everything in time . I had a good breathe after completing these tests. Because mentally you will be thinking a lot during these tests. But frankly , do not prepare anything . Just write whatever comes to your mind at first.
- Make a positive sentence from the words you see. Here also , time is so stringent. So write as quick as possible.

TIPS :
- Your psychological tests are equally important to the upcoming tests , Group Task and Interview. Because cumulative marks from these three tests decides whether you are fit for defense or not .
- Therefore , react true to the questions you see during second day tests.
- DAY 3 AND 4 : GROUP TASK :
Group tasks checks your team work , how you involve yourself in a team , how you lead your team members , whether you are helping your team , etc,.

- Work as a team . Support your teammates during tasks .
- During half group task , take leadership advantage , but do not try to dominate the team.
- Perform individual tasks of 6 or 7 out of 10 .
- Give valid points during lecture.

Interviewer : Laugh !! That is a fine nickname gentlemen . How do most of the people call u ?

The questions in the interview will be rapid. For example : Lot of questions in a row , and you have to answer all of them once interviewer asks to answer all of them in a stretch.
